Production Planner / Document Controller – European Skybus Limited
Reports To: Head of Planning and Documentation Control
Location: Bournemouth
Position Type: Full-time
Role Purpose:
To support the efficient planning, scheduling, and control of aircraft maintenance activities in compliance with UK CAA Part 145 regulations, and to ensure effective management, control, and archiving of technical documentation in line with regulatory and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning:
- Develop and maintain detailed maintenance schedules, work packs, and production plans in coordination with the Maintenance Manager and Line/Base Maintenance teams.
- Monitor progress against the maintenance plan and proactively identify and resolve any deviations to minimise aircraft downtime.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Stores, and other relevant departments to ensure the timely availability of parts, tooling, manpower, and facilities.
- Prepare daily progress reports and communicate any changes or issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in resource forecasting and capacity planning to meet short- and long-term maintenance requirements.
- Ensure that work packages are prepared in accordance with the Aircraft Maintenance Programme (AMP), manufacturers’ requirements, and customer work scope.
Document Control:
- Manage the receipt, control, distribution, and archiving of all technical documentation, including work orders, job cards, maintenance records, and certification documents.
- Ensure that all maintenance documentation is completed accurately, legibly, and in compliance with Part 145, Part M, and company procedures.
- Maintain an organised document control system (physical and electronic) to allow prompt retrieval of records during audits and inspections.
- Liaise with the Compliance Department during internal and external audits to provide requested documentation.
- Support the preparation of reports, data analysis, and record-keeping to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
Key Requirements:
Advantageous:
- Proven experience in production planning and/or document control within an aviation maintenance environment (Part 145).
- Strong understanding of UK CAA/EASA regulatory requirements relating to aircraft maintenance and continuing airworthiness.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and planning activities.
- Proficient in the use of planning software and maintenance management systems (e.g., AMOS, OASES, CAMP, or similar).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team and across departments.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
Desirable:
- Relevant vocational qualification or recognised training in aircraft maintenance planning or document control.
- Previous experience within a UK CAA or EASA regulated airline, MRO, or CAMO environment.
- Familiarity with safety management systems (SMS) and human factors principles.
