Job Title: Sheetmetal/Structures Workshop Supervisor
Reporting to (Line Manager): Workshops Maintenance Manager
Location: European Skybus, European House, Aviation Park west, Bournemouth Airport, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 6EA.

Job Purpose
The Structures Workshop is a key part of the continued airworthiness of our fleet of A340 aircraft. The work is varied from fabrication of the cargo mod pods to structural repairs to Flaps, Spoilers and Engine Intakes etc. In addition, on-wing sheet metal work/composite repairs is an occasional requirement.
The Sheetmetal/Structures Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a small team of highly skilled structures personnel, ensuring the smooth running of the day-to-day operations. The position requires strong leadership experience and you should also be experienced at carrying out Sheet metal work repairs and fabrication to exacting Aviation standards.

Key Responsibilities
The following list of responsibilities is not exhaustive (see ‘Other Duties’ below).
• Be familiar with SRM & CMM maintenance data
• Responsible for the day-to-day management of a team
• Certification of completed projects
• Manage holidays, absences and discipline
• Ability to work on projects from design through to the finished product
• Meticulous record keeping iaw company procedures and Aviation Authority Regulations
• Other duties as deemed reasonable by the workshops manager
Other Duties
As directed by the Workshops Maintenance Manager and as considered necessary to meet the day-to-day, ongoing requirements of the business.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
CRITERIA
Experience
• Engineering experience in sheetmetal/structure workshops
• Strong leadership style, ideally working in a similar supervisory role
• A hands-on approach to work
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Well organised with an eye for detail Strong interpersonal skills
• Prior experience in Aviation and a solid understanding of Aviation Regulations and industry standards as well as aircraft maintenance procedures and documentation relating to the repair of aircraft sheetmetal/composite components.
